Leo Huyghebaert

Master craftsman and artisan in marquetry, Leo Huyghebaert has been putting his skills, developed over a lifetime, to use across the Gold Coast in places such a Versace, and high end apartments in Main Beach. In his retirement, Leo makes beautiful bespoke heirloom pieces, from exquisite document boxes, trinket & jewellery boxes, chess boards and his magnificent Australian birds on the wing sculputural pieces and stingrays, to functional beauties including office and occasional desks, screens and sideboards.

Leo learnt to Art of Marquetry at an early age whilst in his cabinetmaking apprenticeship in Belguim and has contimued to apply these anchient techniques of wood inlay to create patterns and pictures in his furniture pieces and current collection.
